On 2020 February they started filming for the movie with a few drones in Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island (Canada). At the end of that month, filming began in Merritt, British Columbia (Canada), including in the city's downtown area. In March 2020, the production moved to Hawley Common and Minley Woods (United Kingdom), where they did some night shoots. The production also filmed in Valletta (Malta) and Pinewood Studios (United Kingdom). The opening’s scene of the movie, which was part of a special teaser trailer shown alongside IMAX screenings of F9, was filmed on the island of Socotra, Jemen.
