The long walk to the final broadcast is through the lavish rooms of Lancaster House. It's tucked away behind high walls at the end of Pall Mall, past royal residences St James's Palace and Clarence House, and is now owned by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The scene from Buckingham Palace is a mix of two locations: Englefield House in Berkshire and Lancaster House in London. Although conferences are held here, the breathtaking Louis XIV interior is rarely open to the general public. Sometimes it opens its doors at the annual Open City event.

The King's Speech tells the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George ('Bertie') reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.
