This Bandstand was built in 1908 by the Oliver Typewriter Company replacing an earlier Bandstand built in 1855. It is a contributing property to the Woodstock Townsquare Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic places on November 12, 1982. The movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles was also shot in Woodstock which brought the town to the attention of location manager Bob Hudgins, who later recommended the town to Harold Ramis for the filming of Groundhog Day.
