Eilean Donan Castle is a thirteenth-century castle located 0.8 km from Dornie, on an island in Loch Duich in the Scottish Highland region. At the beginning of the eighteenth century the castle was blown up. At the beginning of the twentieth century Eilean Donan Castle was extensively restored and opened to the public.
