Hellbrunn Palace was built in 1613–19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg. It is an early Baroque villa. During the filming of The Sound of Music the pavillon was located at Leopoldskron Palace. But it was relocated because of trespassing. The public is not allowed inside the pavillon.
