The opening scene of the movie: people walking about town in Victorian clothing.
Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire, England. Shrewsbury is a market town whose centre has a largely unspoilt medieval street plan and over 660 listed buildings,[5] including several examples of timber framing from the 15th and 16th centuries. Shrewsbury was one of Dickens's favourite places, so it was appropriate that the film should be made there. In fact it was in the Music Hall in Shrewsbury that Dickens gave the first ever public reading of A Christmas Carol.
