The shop never closes, not even on Christmas Day. It attracts more than 800.000 visitors a year. That makes it one of the most popular places in Dresden.
In 1892 Villeroy & Boch provided 247,90 square meters of stained glass tiles to decorate the shop. The store miraculously survived the bombing by the British and the Americans in February 1945.
