August Ahrens Elementary is a K-6 school located on the island of Oahu in the historic sugar plantation town of Waipahu, Hawaii. This school was named after the first manager of Oahu Sugar Company, Mr. August Ahrens. The administration building and fourteen classrooms were built on three fourths acres and August Ahrens opened its doors to 605 students and 13 teachers on September 1, 1924. Currently, the school encompasses 14 acres with 10 buildings and 26 portable classrooms with approximately 1,500 students and 220 faculty and staff, making it the largest, single-track elementary school in the state.
