The National Liberal Club is a London private members' club, open to both men and women. It was established by William Ewart Gladstone in 1882 to provide club facilities for Liberal Party campaigners. The club was designed by architect Alfred Waterhouse. He is best known for the design of London’s Natural History Museum. The National Liberal Club has an elegant style. Waterhouse included Italianate and French Classical Revival elements in his design. The room in which Tenet was filmed was named in honour of Lady Violet Bonham Carter and celebrates the achievements of Liberal women. Violet Bonham Carter (1887 – 1969) was a British politician and diarist. She was the grandmother of actress Helena Bonham Carter.
