Mount Sinai West is a hospital in the Midtown West neighborhood on Manhattan. It opened in 1871 as Roosevelt Hospital. It was named after James Henry Roosevelt, the American philanthropist who died in 1863. Roosevelt Hospital merged with St. Luke's Hospital in 1978, becoming St. Luke's–Roosevelt Hospital Center. In 2013 the hospitals became part of the Mount Sinai Health System.

SYNOPSIS
