The former gold and coal mining town of St Bathans lies deep in the heart of the Maniototo in New Zealand's Otago region. The settlement was a centre of the Otago Gold Rush, but mining has since long ceased and it is now a tranquil holiday retreat. In January 2020 they built the set on a location not far from the Falls Dam and Hills Creek, just down the road from St Bathans and over the hill from Ranfurly.
