Monument Square is at the centre of Central Troy Historic District in downtown Troy, New York. The square was created in 1891. It is known for the monument which honors those from Rensselaer County who served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the American Civil War. The monument features a 50-foot granite column and a 17-foot bronze statue of the Goddess Columbia.
