Abingdon Square Park is a park located in Greenwich Village on Manhattan. It is one of New York City's oldest and smallest parks. It is only 0.25 acres (1,000 m2). New York City acquired the land on which the park resides on April 22, 1831, and it was enclosed with a cast-iron fence in 1836. The Abingdon Square Memorial in the centre of the park was created by sculptor Philip Martiny. It was made in 1921.
