Carnegie Hall is a legendary and prestigious concert venue in Midtown Manhattan. It was designed by architect William Burnet Tuthill and built by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1891. Carnegie Hall has 3,671 seats, divided among three auditoriums. The largest one is the Stern Auditorium, a five-story auditorium with 2,804 seats. It was renamed after violinist Isaac Stern in 1997 to recognize his efforts to save the hall from demolition in the 1960s.
