The Rijksmuseums collection offers an overview of Dutch art and history, including works by 17th-century Dutch masters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals. The museum has been housed since 1885 in the Rijksmuseum building designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers. In the museum, Villanelle contemplates The Infanticide in Bethlehem, among other works, despite its gory subject matter, it does not really appeal to her. A work a little further on appeals to her much more. Full of attention, she looks at The Corpses of the De Witt Brothers. "This looks like bacon," she remarks. Later on, she creates an entirely her own version of the performance.
