Dating back to the 17th century, it underwent significant remodeling in 1820, adopting an Elizabethan style. The house boasts a south-facing multi-bay structure with variously sized storeys, enclosing a courtyard. Noteworthy features include a 17th-century office wing to the north and a stunning domed conservatory, the orangery, designed by William Burn in the 1850s. The estate encompasses vast landscaped grounds adorned with parallel reflecting pools on the south lawn, each stretching 550 feet long.
