Dunseverick Castle is a historic site located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, near the village of Dunseverick and close to the famous Giant's Causeway. The castle dates back over 1,500 years and is steeped in history, including connections to Saint Patrick, who is said to have baptized a local man there in the 5th century AD. Initially a fort and observation post, the castle was under the control of notable figures such as Fergus the Great in the 6th century and later the O'Cahan family until it was captured and destroyed by Cromwellian troops in the 17th century. Today, only the ruins remain, offering stunning coastal views and access to scenic walking paths along the cliffs. Dunseverick Castle is recognized as a significant ancient site in Ireland, situated on one of the five royal highways of ancient Ireland.
