The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum, located in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood, is the largest memorial in the U.S. dedicated solely to honoring all branches of military veterans and service personnel. Designed by Henry Hornbostel in the Beaux-Arts style and dedicated in 1910, the hall was initially constructed to honor Civil War veterans but now spans all U.S. conflicts. It features a 2,500-seat auditorium, banquet halls, and several exhibit halls displaying artifacts from the Civil War to present-day conflicts. The did not use the real lift in the building but created a lift in the lobby by using the doors that lead to the auditorium.
