The Chinese Garden in Montreal, located within the Montreal Botanical Garden, is a 2.5-hectare garden designed in the traditional style of a Ming-era Chinese garden. Created between 1990 and 1991 by 50 Chinese craftsmen from the Shanghai Institute of Landscape Design and Architecture, it features an artificial mountain, a large lake known as Dream Lake, and various buildings such as the Friendship Hall and the Stone Boat. The garden includes over 200 varieties of perennials, aquatic plants, and symbolic trees like magnolias and Scots Pines. It is adorned with colorful lanterns and penjing (landscape in a pot) displays.
