Keleti Railway Station, opened on August 16, 1884, is Budapest's largest and busiest train station. Designed by Gyula Rochlitz and János Feketeházy, it features Eclectic architecture with Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque elements. Located at Baross tér 11, it served as a symbol of modernity with electric lighting from the start. The station's grand façade includes allegorical sculptures, while frescoes by Mór Than and Károly Lotz adorn the interior. Renamed in 1892, Keleti has witnessed significant historical events and renovations, remaining a key hub for domestic and international rail travel as well as a landmark of Budapest’s architectural heritage.
