This building, now an Albert Heijn supermarket, once served as a police station in Overveen with a dark wartime history. During World War II, the renowned Dutch resistance fighter Hannie Schaft – known as "the girl with the red hair" – was arrested, detained, and interrogated within these walls. She was executed in the Bloemendaal dunes on April 17, 1945, just three weeks before the Netherlands was liberated.
