Foundation is the long awaited television series based on the book series of the same name by Isaac Asimov. Filming took place in Ireland on March 12, 2020 when the production was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October of that same year filming was resumed. Filming also took place on Iceland, Malta and on the Canary Islands. On these islands scenes were shot in in Tuineje, Fuerteventura and on Tenerife at the beginning of 2021.
