Tennessee State Prison is a former correctional facility located near downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The beautiful abandoned prison features 800 small cells and 3-foot thick rock walls. Opened in 1898 with the capacity of 1400 people it was the correction facility where many were serving their time. After this prison closed its doors in 1992 for prisoners it opened them widely for the film industry. It has been the location for films like Nashville, Walk the Line, The Green Mile and The Last Castle.
